Love to here his musical diversity. He Doesn't break it out with the Dead all the time, He must have got it for his birthday the day before, lol.

Subject: heartbreak
I don't know which is more heartbreaking - the tape cutting out right before the boys explode into the outro of Lovelight or when the final minutes sounds as if the tape is being garbled by tape heads. Either way it's heartbreaking and gut wrenching. Be forewarned, the end of Lovelight is absolute torture due to tape jam or whatever the frigg it is but at least it is here and not cut.

Subject: Despite The Hassles
The Dead's run at the Family Dog was supposed to begin on Jerry's birthday the day before but upon getting to the gig they found the light show folks were on strike and picketing the Family Dog. Jerry would not cross a picket line and spent the evening mediating the hassles. In spite of it all they played this show the next night. A very good and jammed out Hard To Handle is the high light here in a gig that was put on despite the hassles.

When streaming this show I noticed something. I was listening to the exceptional Other One when I was suprised to see the track label as 12/31/69. Anyone know anything about this? Regardless, hot as hell TOO here, must here.

Subject: Decent sound.
Actually very typical set list for the summer tour, except perhaps for the absence of DS>SS>11. Slewfoot and Silver Strings are terrible songs but if you like them these versions are fine.

Subject: Rare set list
Decent enough show, just a very odd set list, a few of these are done but a handful of times, so worth it for that, decent recording, probably one of the lesser 69 shows really just because the unusual set list is just not really strong for the year.
